October 10 - 11 Camping trip

I found these mushrooms while camped along the Siletz River. I have been camping here since I was a kid and never noticed the Chanterelles, Sparassis or Ramaria. Camping here will never be the same.

Great time at the show--a little warm however. Tough for those of us with heating issues but still very cool. Here's a pic of just some of the awesome stars of the day.

Hey All,

Bummed I missed class last night, but to make up for it I took a walk through the woods here at Black Butte and found some cool mushrooms. Not sure what all of them are as I forgot my Mycology book. When I get home tomorrow, I'll try and go back and identify but if you're feeling bored and want something to do, please feel free to help me. Thanks. See you all next week. Sarah

Here are a couple of mushrooms I found during my walk today. The small purple one (I believe some kind of Agarics) I found at the upper part of the Marquam Trail and the big brown one (I think a Bolette of some kind) near my home off of Hamilton Road. I need help with identifying as you can guess from my names "small purple" and "big brown".

Here are some more pictures of one of the Amanita phalloids (Death Cap) I found on Friday, October 2.

Sunday, October 4, 2009

The first picture I believe are Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus), next is a Portobello (Agaricus Bisporus), and the orange are of course Chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius).

Hey All,

Here are some pics I took of the mushrooms (store bought) I brought in to the last class. I will try to actually find some out in the "wild" for the 10/16 class as I will be out of town for the 10/9 class.
