Rainbow-Riverside Field Trip

Thanks to everyone who ventured into the wonderful ancient forest environment of the Rainbow-Riverside trail this last Sunday!!! Myco-diversity galore, and I am still working on the species list, but what beautiful fall colors and I just love that trail!!

  1. I can't believe I missed it. I am so sad. I'm glad you had a good time and saw cool mushrooms. I look forward to hearing about it in class.

  2. Sorry I missed you guys. By the time I got to the ranger station it was 8:15. I only saw a red truck and wasn't sure if it was someone from our class, didn't see anyone in it. I then drove around looking for the rainbow campground but couldn't find it. Determined not to make it all for nothing I pulled off by one of the Clackamas River bridges and took in the scenery and low and behold I found some mushrooms. So, while I wish I could have been with all of you the day wasn't a total loss and the drive was incredible. Beautiful countryside.

  3. I haven't had time to do anything with the Chanterelles and other edible mushrooms we found on the field trip, so I'm planning to bring them to class on Friday. I don't have an electric fry pan, so hoping Connie picks up this thread and comes to class as prepared as she was for the field trip!
